IUPUI Staff Mentoring Program

The IUPUI Staff Mentoring Program is jointly sponsored by the Finance and Administration Office, Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion, and the IUPUI Staff Council. Eligibility

IUPUI full-time staff from all schools/units and all ranks are eligible to apply as mentees or mentors. The mentors will be from a diverse range of ranks and roles. Peer to peer mentoring will be allowed.

Mentees must complete the IUPUI Staff Mentoring Program application and discuss the time commitment with their supervisor.

Mentors must be full-time staff with at least five (5) years of work experience at IUPUI.

Project Requirements

The program will be one calendar year in duration. During the one calendar year period of the program, the mentor is expected to spend at least 25 hours with the mentee. Once the final report has been reviewed and accepted by the Staff Mentoring Program Advisory Board, the mentor will receive $250 in Professional Development funds.

Post Acceptance Requirements

  • Mentees and mentors are required to attend an initial onboarding/orientation in October 2018, a mid-program meeting in April 2019 and an end-of-program meeting in September 2019.
  • Mentees are required to submit an Individual Development Plan (IDP). The mentee and mentor will agree on the goals to be realized during the period of the grant in support of the mentee’s IDP.
  • A final report must be submitted via email to stmentor@iupui.edu within 10 days prior to the end-of-program meeting. The report must be prepared and submitted by the mentee and include a section from the mentor. It must describe the mentorship experience, the specific impact of this experience on the mentee’s professional development and advancement, and highlight key outcomes.
  • The mentee will receive a certificate for completing the program and the mentor will be receive $250 in Professional Development funds once the report has been reviewed and accepted by the Staff Mentoring Program Advisory Board.
